Look out ’cause here I come
And I’m marching on to the beat I drum
“Health Coach”…. “you’re gonna ask me to cut out meat, only nibble on a lettuce leaf, stop eating all the “good stuff” in life and have me pounding the pavement every day”…. “that’s not for me”…
That’s the gist of a conversation I shared recently when I disclosed my profession. I’m a Holistic Health Coach, so I look to all manner of “natural” and “alternative” options (if you call whole foods, regular exercise, real sleep and real and “radical” self-love “alternative”) and other healing modalities to bring balance to a body and help rediscover a person’s health and vitality!
“Look at you!” (yes, I am “petite”) Do you eat meat?”. “Do you drink wine?” “You look like a gym junkie!”. “Do you live on salads?” …
Ok, so, despite being very obviously unwell, you get the idea there was a little resistance from this person to the whole “health” thing and was a little jaundiced to the pathway to health and vitality. Or what she perceived it was. It is only “people like me” who can achieve health.
So, I explained, just like I was once told of a notion that psychologists go into psychology to sort their own mess out, Health Coaches often get into Health Coaching because they need to sort their own, or a family member’s, health out. FOR REAL. And that’s true for me.
It got me thinking….
It’s time I shared more of “ME” so you know I’m real. Not just a salad-munching health-freak. Ready?
Hi! I’m Simone, Health Coach – my clients tell me a good one. I’m a wife. And a Mum.
My skills and insights are a combination of my “official” training as well as lessons learned and experience gained from “the game of life”.
I’ve stumbled too many times to count, been lower than I thought was possible and still got up, been so sick I couldn’t get out of bed and in pain enough that fainting was my body’s only escape. I’ve felt like my heart had been ripped out of my chest and have gone on to love again, made a world-full of wrong decisions that I later saw were just “decisions” and feel like I’ve lived two life-times in my 51 years.
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I’m meant to be, this is me
I eat meat. I drink wine – sometimes. Yes, I LOVE salad and vegetables. I also love chocolate. I eat cake (sometimes). I despise calorie- counting. And those who encourage it REALLY annoy me! I don’t consume dairy as it makes me sick, so whilst I absolutely love ice-cream, I don’t eat it.
I don’t believe that weighing ourselves is necessary. I think the extremes in nutrition plans – those being touted as “the” answer for everyone are all BS. I don’t work out every day. I was once a gym junkie – and loved it – but don’t go any more. I used to run loads, but don’t any more. I love walking. I love wandering amongst nature and being reminded of its’ scale and beauty. I hug tress. I talk to plants. I adore being near water. I struggle when I can’t be in the sun for long periods of time; for me, the sun and the warmth in my bones, is like no other tonic. Like bats in the dark, I come alive!
I have been called “Thunder Thighs”.
I’ve been told how great I looked “because I lost some weight.”
I have suffered with anorexia. And bulimia. I was exceedingly sad, alone and lonely.
I have suffered with endometriosis and had a complete hysterectomy at age 43. I’ve regretted it ever since.
I am honest beyond most people’s comfort zone. I despise lies and struggle with how it is often the “fabricators” who appear to get ahead in this life.
I am so damned loyal it hurts…but betray that and I don’t show up for a second helping.
I’ve been judged so harshly it broke my heart. I’ve cried an ocean so that I thought I must have no more tears left. I have judged and seen the error of my ways. I have forgiven people I know I’ll never receive an apology from. I’ve lost too many friends to count. I’ve been abused with language that I could not even dream of saying to another human being, let alone someone I knew and loved.
I’ve lost people I thought were my “rocks”. I found others that I “know” are my rocks.
I dream huge.
I love deeply.
I am an optimist.
I swear. Sometimes.
I’m crazy and zany. I LOVE to laugh. And have learned to laugh at myself. Kindly.
I’m immensely passionate. I’m heart-led, psychic (people often call me “spooky”) and care so much about people and seeing them shine their own beautiful and brilliant sparkles, I’ve made it my world.
I love people – though some still confound me with games and stupidity and their process of “belittling” others to raise themselves up.
Just like you, I have my story. It’s too much for some. That’s ok. It gives me an insight into life that I now use as a marvellous reference point, along with my training, to help others harness their own power and set their own dreams and ambitions alight!
I do “real”. I see through BS quickly. I walk with my clients to the place they need to heal most.
Real Health and Vitality is about supporting those willing to reconnect with themselves and regain a life of vigour. That takes an integration of dietary and lifestyle modifications and great and consistent decisions that support ongoing – long term – wellbeing. It’s faith in your body. It’s reversing damage done. It’s also about achieving a balance in life, where body, mind and spirit are aligned. No one thing is “it”. There is no magic bullet (or pill). Ever.
Yes, it’s salad but it’s also dessert. It’s “binge-watching” but also “regular movement”. It’s regular & recuperative sleep. It’s letting go of anger and hate. It’s letting the past “be”. It’s finding rest and calming your breathing. It’s crying if you need to. It’s laughing and finding joy. It’s eating veggies. It’s enjoying treats. It’s acceptance. It’s gratitude. It’s fulfilling commitments. It’s honouring capabilities. It’s making decisions. It’s forming connections and creating a community. It’s doing what’s in your heart. And getting out of your head. It’s being all you can be and being in that place of self that fills you up with pride. It’s everything.
My belief is that to fulfil our earthly commitment and be all we can – and are meant – to be, we must:
I’m not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
I’m a Health Coach who honours, listens to, supports, fights for and guides you once you have made the decision to be well again.
Don’t piss around with your health. You’ve got one body. You’ve got one life. It’s now. To get the most out of both you must take care of yourself. Body. Mind. Spirit. Don’t go wasting your chances.
You are breathing but are you living? Surviving, but are you thriving? If yes, you are short-changing yourself. You are missing out on so much if you are not guzzling from the fountain of life! Your very last drop will surely come so my mission is to help you drink up, taste it for real and enjoy all you can. That’s the only way you truly live. And, You’ve Gotta Live!
Are you interested in knowing more about your options to get back to healthy and feel great in your skin again? Want to know how to bounce out of bed and live with vitality?
I offer a 45-minute Health Insight Call. It’s free. No obligation. By the end of the 45 minutes you will have a better idea of not only what (the hell!) is going on in your body that you don’t feel great, you will also have an outline of choices you can make that will help you feel better. No starving. No “shredding”. No “juice cleanses”. Nope. Just real, healthy choices that brings everything back into alignment. https://HealthInsightsCall.as.me/
People who want to “try out” the notion of enlisting the help of their own Health Coach find this is a great option. You get to work with me for 45 minutes and understand my style and if you are comfortable with it. That works both ways by the way. I look to work with women who have made the decision to be well again. Those ladies who have had enough of feeling “blah”, who are sick of watching others buzz through life; those ladies who want to “thrive” not just survive…and are prepared to stop making excuses, make some changes, try new things and new ways, do the work and be real about what they need to do to be well again. No quick fixes here. That said, using my methodology you can start to feel better withing weeks.
You cannot eat your way out of a condition you have behaved yourself in to. You can’t run your way better with a diet filled with crap food. And you cannot thrive if you are not practising radical self-care.
The things is, the changes that are required are easier to adopt when you have someone to lean on.
I educate, inspire, honour and support women who will work to get their results and to make their goals a reality.
Is. That. You?
I invite you to book a chat with me – it might just be that one conversation to change your health and your life for good.
I can’t wait to help you know that!
